Today was one of the first Saturdays in a LONG time that my husband and I have been able to work out together. Despite a few cocktails and a late night last night, we were able to pull it together and get ourselves outside for a workout, and it was way worth it.
Since it was totally gorgeous today I couldn't see myself holed up in a gym, not enjoying our gorgeous weather. So, we grabbed our battle rope and headed to our local high school track. Today's workout was short, super intense and burned off all of last night's tequila!
We started off with 10x100 yard sprints all out with a significant amount of rest in between. By significant amount I mean 45 seconds to a minute between each sprint. This doesn't sound like much, but when you run these like you are running from a bear, it's so intense. I felt like I was going to pass out a couple of times. We followed the 100 yarders with 7x50 yard sprints, again, ALL out.
The finisher for this workout was a battle rope session between the two of us. We each battled with the rope for 30 seconds, then rested 30 seconds and did this 5 times. Phew....so hard!
What I love about this workout is that it's really different from most crossfit workouts so it surprises your body. It's short, to the point but a total burner. Try it out and let me know what you think and share some other quick workout ideas below!
