It’s difficult to change your thoughts, feelings and behaviors when your body is stuck in a chronic state of fight or flight.
The SSP is designed to help you learn the language of your body, regulate your nervous system and heal deep trauma.
Meet The Safe and Sound Listening Protocol (SSP):
Vagus nerve stimulation through specifically filtered music is one of the fastest and most effective ways to help bring resiliency and tone back to the nervous system. Meet: The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP).
The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a vagal nerve stimulator program that uses music, paired with over-the-ear headphones, to shift the nervous system to be more present and regulated while improving capacity for connection and receptivity. The SSP has demonstrated benefits for assisting individuals with trauma, anxiety, stress, ADHD, sensory processing differences, brain fog, digestive issues, emotional regulation and more.
The SSP music program acts as a non-invasive, acoustic vagal nerve stimulator, helping to re-tune the nervous system to better support connection, collaboration and resilience. The SSP involves listening to specially filtered music through headphones along with several remote integration sessions to support your nervous system’s transition.
Our one-on-one work together involves access to this deeply transformational listening program along with 4 somatic integration sessions held via zoom to help shift your nervous system, release old thought patterns and heal trauma.
Here is what people are saying about the Safe and Sound Protocol Listening Program (SSP):
“Before SSP, I would find myself in 'fight or flight' in the mornings when I had the baby and had to get myself and all my kids ready and to school on time. After SSP, I move through the mornings with ease and don't get rattled. Before SSP, I struggled with being on time. After SSP, while I am still occasionally late, I am on time more frequently and when I'm not I don't feel as upset about it. Before SSP, something like packing and (airplane) traveling with my baby would have made me very stressed and anxious. After SSP, I just took a trip that required two flights in the same day with my baby, and didn't feel anxious at all about it. Tired, but not anxious." - Emily A.
“After completing the SSP Program I am calmer, my husband even noticed a difference. I am happier and it opened up a creative side of my brain that has been closed for many years. I finally got the confidence to start an online wellness platform which I have been going back and forth about starting for many years!" - Caroline C.
"Definitely a sense of calm and way less reactive. I almost feel like before doing the program I couldn't handle multiple things going on at once (e.g. I am cooking dinner and my kids are yelling at each other in the living room) but now I just don't feel so pulled by distractions. I have been sleeping really well and probably could sleep more if my little rascals would let me. I do just feel a lightness and enthusiasm that is new and really aligning nicely with spring and sun and warmth. I really do feel a difference and am very grateful!" - Carly W.
I’ve taken everything I’ve learned from 10 years of coaching thousands of people on holistic health and boiled it down to the power of the nervous system
When we have an aligned, regulated nervous system, a world of possibilities opens up. When a more flexible nervous system is present, there is more potential for homeostasis within the body, therefore, we become more open and curious, we experience well-being, an ability to create social connections, along with increased flexibility, growth, resilience and learning.
With that, comes better decision making, an ability to stick to our routines and goals, resiliency when things get difficult and deeper, more connected relationships.
Alongside listening to the SSP, our work together helps you continue to peel back the layers of the onion in your healing journey. The SSP makes you more pliable and open to healing, making our sessions together a place for deep realizations and repair.

If yes, then nervous system regulation and somatic work could help
As the nervous system re-tunes, we experience glimmers of hope as the body begins to feel a renewed sense of safety and calm. This leads to a greater availability and capacity for insights and perceptions, building awareness, trust, hope, and resilience.
Here’s what it looks like to do the SSP with me:
Access to the SSP: As a foundational part of our work together you will receive access to the SSP. The SSP is a total of 5 hours of music spread across 10-21 days. Listening is done on your own time in approximately 20-30 minute increments, daily.
1-on-1 Integration: While you’re moving through the 5 hours of music, we will meet 1-on-1 four times for approximately 30 minutes. These sessions are used as a way to help you integrate your SSP listening, help expose you to somatic work and identify triggers and releases. This program is a fantastic way to begin to peel back the layers of your own healing and also expose yourself to working with a somatic coach.
The Safe and Sound Protocol is the Base for All of My Work
We Use the Safe and Sound Listening Protocol as Your Deep Nervous System Reset:
Based on Polyvagal Theory, the Safe and Sound Protocol listening program is designed to help re-tune the nervous system which helps us reach a Ventral Vagal (calm, rest and digest) more often. When a more flexible nervous system is present, there is more potential for homeostasis within the body, we become more open and curious, we experience well-being, an ability to create social connections, along with increased flexibility, growth, resilience and learning.
During the Safe and Sound Protocol a client listens to specifically filtered music through headphones that help with overall vagus nerve tone. This listening is done on your own time outside of our Zoom calls together. This algorithmically filtered music focuses on the frequency range of the human voice which alters the way sounds are interpreted. This ushers the nervous system out of a defensive (fight, flight or freeze) state and into a socially engaged (ventral vagal) state. This begins to create an upward spiral of change. As the nervous system re-tunes, clients experience glimmers of hope as their body begins to feel a renewed sense of safety and calm. This leads to a greater availability and capacity for new insights and perceptions. This leads to more capacity for awareness, trust, hope, and resilience.
How Long Does it Take to Complete the SSP?
The SSP program involves a total of 5 hours of specifically filtered music administered remotely across 10-21 days, sometimes longer. Listening is done independently but is integrated into our 1-on-1 work.
What to Expect:
The SSP delivery is a dynamic and integrative process. We allow space for a wide range of experiences and responses. Sessions will activate the client’s social engagement system, helping to accelerate and enhance therapeutic outcomes. These sessions support physiological state regulation, allowing for greater resilience.
What You Need:
For all SSP sessions, you will need access to the internet, over-ear headphones, access to the Unyte app through iTunes or Google Play (you will get access during our first session together), and a calm quiet place. Please be sure to look at our list of appropriate headphones for the session.
